South San Francsco, Calif. – To all FluidFilm® users, distributors, dealers and members of the Eureka Family
After an invigorating first season of Sponsorship with Infineon Raceway, FLUID FILM® is looking back on the event with gratitude and satisfaction. As Sponsors of the FLUID FILM® Indy Pole Day, the qualifying day for the IZOD Indy Car Series, the company engaged race fans by offering thousands of free tickets through numerous participating retailers, and, sole example among the vendors at the raceway, circulating discount coupons and liberally handing out samples and merchandise.
Following its successful presence at the 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series two months previous, the FLUID FILM® Indy Pole Day proved to be an ever bigger achievement, helping to propel the company towards its brand name recognition goal in the automotive aftermarket industry. The FLUID FILM® product line has earned world-wide accolades for its superior quality corrosion preventives and lubricants, supplying such major manufacturers as Caterpillar, John Deere and International Truck with its solvent-free, lanolin based coatings.
Will Power, the real star of the day, returned triumphantly to Infineon Raceway a year after a violent crash during a practice session almost ended his career. Like a scene from a Hollywood movie, he showed no hesitation or fear as he pulled off an exciting last minute victory, punctuating his return with a record 8th pole for the 2010 season. Will went on to give a commanding performance and win the final race on Sunday.
The FLUID FILM® booth was the most popular in the Grandstand area, in part due to the crowd’s reaction to the FLUID FILM® Girl, Torunn Sivesind, who garnered so much attention that both The Associated Press and NBC Sports carried the trophy ceremony picture of her with winner Will Power on their sites.
Despite the success of the day, there was a bittersweet feeling for FLUID FILM® employees, who had lost President and Owner Anna Stanton earlier in the year to an illness. It was her vision that led to the Sponsorship and her presence was clearly missed. It is certain she would have been proud of the event’s outcome.
Next year’s Sponsorship promises to be just as exciting, and the FLUID FILM® team is already gearing up for a sustained run at the Winner’s circle.
